Happy 3 Year Anniversary!!

Yesterday marked our 3rd year together as a married couple!  We can't believe it has already been three years, but at the same time it is hard to picture what life was without each other.  We are really excited to start our new adventure this year with our baby boy!

When I got home from work Friday night I was greeted by these...

I love it when he surprises me with flowers on special occasions. :)

Yesterday we did some Saturday chores around the house... Robbie helped me clean, got the oil changed in my car, and gave my car a well-needed car wash.  After a hard day of work, we decided to treat ourselves and go to dinner at Harborside Restaurant in Newport Beach.  It is on the Balboa Peninsula and overlooks Newport Harbor.  We had a great view of the harbor from our table and we got to enjoy watching all the yachts, fishing boats, and duffy boats while we ate our delicious meal.

Robbie got the orange coconut crusted salmon and I had the top sirloin with mashed potatoes.  It was really good!  We were both so hungry that we took a bite before we could get a picture. :)

After dinner we walked around and found a nice bench to watch the sunset.  We also admired all the huge beach houses and wondered if we would be able to afford one. :)

The biggest surprise of the night came when Robbie knelt down on one knee and presented me with a wedding band!  We were young, poor college students when we got married and we were concerned about being able to pay for graduate school for the both of us... so a wedding band was not quite in the budget!  But it came as a wonderful surprise three years later and I absolutely love it!  I told Robbie that he couldn't have done a better job in picking it out... it is exactly what I would have picked out myself.  And it fits perfectly (but that may change once the pregnancy swelling kicks in!).

You can officially say that I am very spoiled... I have a great husband! I love you Robbie!!!

24 and 28 Weeks!

Yes, it has been a couple of months since I posted last... so it is time to give an update!  Our baby boy is growing! And he likes to move a lot! It is getting to be really fun now because we can talk to him and he will react to our voices. He especially likes hearing his dad's voice... but I think it is just because a deeper man's voice kinda startles him! He is always the most active when we are reading our scriptures right before bed and then when I wake up in the morning.

Here is a picture of me at 24 weeks...

And another picture at 28 weeks!

I am definitely looking (and feeling) pregnant! We took this picture last week, so right now we are at 29 weeks! It is so crazy to believe that I will be considered "full-term" in just 8 more weeks.  I have 7 more weeks of work... which gives me 4 weeks before the due date to finish my "nesting".  :)  Time is flying by so quickly!

We are so glad things are going well and we will keep you posted on the last few months!

20 Weeks!

We celebrated the fact that we are 20 weeks along today!!  Halfway there... and hopefully more than halfway there when he comes a little early (I can dream, right?!).  We had a doctor's appointment this week and he confirmed that we are 100% having a boy!  Things are progressing really well and on June 7th we will have an ultrasound to make sure his organs are developing properly and everything else is looking good.

While I have been busy growing, I have also been busy accumulating some baby stuff.  We have purchased and set up the crib. Here is a picture of the crib we bought...
I love the crib! We found it at Wal-Mart for a really good price and it is super good quality.  It is set up in his room, just waiting!  The mattress and mattress pad are being shipped to the store and hopefully we will get those within the next week.  We have picked out his bedding set, which I absolutely love, and it is being shipped this week, too.

And we also have the car seat and stroller travel system sitting in a big box in his room.  My awesome cousin, Brittany, sent us a whole box full of adorable baby clothes from her boys.  I couldn't help looking at all the clothes and wondering what our little boy will look like wearing them!  We can't wait!  And an update on the name... we are still deciding on the first name, but we have decided that his middle name will be James.  So right now his name is ___?___ James Irwin.  :)
