Happy Half Birthday!

Carson turned 1/2 a couple of days ago! I can't believe he is that old already! Time has flown by so quickly and he is growing up right before our eyes. He is such a funny little boy and we love him to pieces!

Carson has two teeth... he actually got them at 4 months and 1 week. He loves to chew on things and bite your finger if you aren't careful!

Carson still LOVES his jumper... he has moved on from jumping in it, though, and does more of a side-to-side sway. He loves to reach up for the bumblebee and bird at the top.

Carson is a very good eater. He always has been. His favorite foods are squash, bananas, prunes, and applesauce. He loves to drink out of his little sippy cup and is good at drinking with a straw.

He loves to try to feed himself by grabbing the spoon and putting it in his mouth, which usually results in some pretty messy feedings. He is such a good helper. :)

Carson is very observant. He loves to look around and explore (and touch) everything around him. When we go somewhere new, he will just stare at people and watch exactly what they are doing. Haha, I think it makes some people feel uncomfortable, but it is pretty funny! When we give him a new toy or some other object to play with he gets this look of excitement on his face and loves to try to figure out how it will fit into his mouth. :)

Bath time is always an event we look forward to in our house. Carson takes a bath every night before bed and if we are running a few minutes behind scheduled bath time, he lets us know it! He can be really fussy, but as soon as you turn on that water and get his towel out he is smiling and kicking those little legs!

Looking good in his shark towel!

We took him to the doctor yesterday for his six month appointment and he weighs just over 18 pounds! He loves to be held and carried around, which can be exhausting after a while because he is not the smallest kid! What an exciting, crazy, and rewarding past six months and we can't wait to see what else this little guy will come up with!

A Very Green Birthday and an Empty Bank Account

Happy 27th Birthday to my wonderful hubby! He was lucky enough to be born on St. Patrick's Day and we all made sure to wear green to celebrate the big day. However, Rob didn't seem to be too thrilled that he was turning 27 this year (I am three years younger so I can always tease him about being old!). He even forgot it was his birthday until I reminded him after church. :)

We celebrated a couple of nights before the big day by going to our favorite little pizza shop right in our little town, Tustin. They even have gelato... no matter how full you are, you can always make room for at least two scoops!

We went up to Rob's parent's house for dinner the night of his birthday to celebrate with a delicious meal! There he opened gifts and we played games. And of course we had some cake, too.

And we always have to get a couple of pictures of this little cutie...

One last thing... we have some exciting news!! We bought a house (hence, the empty bank account)! We are moving about 2 miles away from our current apartment into a little townhome. It has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a lot more space and grass for Carson to run around (when he gets to that stage, which will come sooner than we would like!). We will be living in the same ward boundaries and will still be really close to Rob's work. We close in early April and are planning on doing some updates, so we will be moving in around the middle of April. We will post some before and after pictures once we get to that stage. :)

(Thanks to Carson for letting daddy borrow the keys for his birthday!)

Valentine's Day

I am about a month behind on my blog posts, but I figure better late than never. :) We had a great Valentine's Day! Rob and I decided to forget our childless days of going out to eat at a romantic restaurant. Instead we traded in for a good, quiet, crowdless homecooked meal. (We were able to go out to eat the next weekend, just to two of us, which was nice!) I made Rob's favorite green chili enchiladas and some red velvet cheesecake squares for dessert. It was such a fun Valentine's Day with our new little family!

Our lovely Valentine's Day tablescape. :)

My two favorite boys got their favorite DVDs for Valentine's Day! I love them so much!!!

4 Months

Our little guy turned 4 months old this past Sunday! I can't believe how fast he is growing up. It is so much fun to see not only his physical changes, but also the changes in his personality. He is a great baby and so much fun!!

We went to the doctor yesterday and he weighs 15 pounds 12 ounces and measures 25 3/4 inches long. He is in the 70th percentile for height and 67th percentile for weight. We couldn't believe that he weighed that much! He is a solid kid. :)

Carson is a very active baby... he hardly ever holds still! I have a video of me trying to take a picture of him and he is just kicking like crazy. As a result of his activeness, he loves playing with his play mat and bouncing in his jumperoo. He also loves watching his movies - Baby Signing Time, Fisher Price Nature Baby, and Baby Einstein. His favorite part of the movies are the little puppets on the Fisher Price movies. He could be crying in his jumperoo and once those puppets come on he immediately stops and watches. It is so funny!

We started out with two textbooks, but now we are down to one!

Carson's umbilical hernia has healed! It was pretty amazing to see his belly button sink back in... and it happened pretty quickly, too!

Carson has rolled over twice... the first one was an accident while we were playing on the floor and it took him by surprise! The second one happened while he was sleeping and he was not happy when he woke up on his tummy! We are still working on it. :)

Carson is known for always being hungry! He eats, eats, and eats some more. I have been nursing him every 1 1/2 - 2 hours since he was born, which is exhausting! And the last two weeks he had been waking up during the middle of the night every 2-3 hours because he was hungry. So once we hit that 4 month mark we decided to give solids a try! We just tried it this morning, so we haven't quite seen the effects of it yet. It was so funny to watch his face the first time we put a spoon in his mouth. He looked at us like, "What the heck are you people doing?!" But he did a lot better than I thought he would the first try. Let's hope we can stretch out those feedings and get him sleeping a little better. :)

Happy four months to our baby boy! We love him so much!!!

Baby's First Christmas 2012

We had a great Christmas! It started out with Carson's blessing day on December 23rd. It was a fantastic day and we were so grateful for all the family and friends who made it to support us.

My family came down to California and rented a house in Huntington Beach the week of Christmas. We stayed there with them and had a great time! We went to Orange County Mining Company for Christmas Eve dinner, my family went to Disneyland Christmas day while we went to Robbie's family, spent a day at the beach, went to Sea World, and much more! Here are some pictures...

Yummy lunch at our favorite Taco Factory!

Carson left goodies for Santa and his reindeer!

Carson got spoiled!

Seeing the penguins at Sea World...

,,, and Shamu!

The girls got pedicures!

It was a fun Christmas break! We have loved having Carson be a part of our little family and are so excited for the more adventures that come.
