35 Weeks!

I can't believe it is already September!  Next month our little Carson James is due and we are so excited... 5 more weeks!!  I feel like the pregnancy has gone by fast, but at the same time I think back to January and February, my first couple of months, and that seems so long ago.  I was looking back at my belly pictures and laughing at the difference between my 20 week picture and now my 35 week picture...

20 Weeks

vs.

35 Weeks...

Quite a difference!

We went in a couple of weeks ago to have an ultrasound done.  They were able to look at all his organs and he looks fully developed!  We even saw a little bit of fuzzy hair on his little head!  At the time he weighed about 5 pounds, 1 ounce (they say give or take 12 ounces).  I was surprised that he was that big!  We tried to get a good look at his face, but he had his little hand in front of his face the entire ultrasound... someone wants to hide his handsomeness until he makes his big debut!

I have been busy with work these last few months... July, August, and September are the busiest parts of the year for my work.  It has been good because it keeps me busy, but me and my body are ready to be done.  And fortunately this is week my last week before I go on leave!  I will have four weeks before the due date to finish up my nesting projects (mostly sewing and cleaning!).

Rob has been a champ these last few months in dealing with a pregnant wife.  It has been unusually warm here in Southern California this summer and the only a/c we have in our apartment is a little unit in our front room.  As a result, he has had to live with a hot, sweaty, and sometimes ornery wife.  But I'm glad to say it is getting better as we roll into the fall.  He has also had to deal with all of my nesting projects... I have made him put together a crib and shelving unit, and pick up a dresser from the furniture store.  And then I started organizing all of our closets and cupboards, so we had to make a couple of trips to the garbage bin and the DI trailer.  And not to mention the random outbursts of tears that come along with pregnancy.  He's such a good man. :)

Well, we will keep you all posted over the next few weeks!  We can't wait to meet our little man!

Happy 3 Year Anniversary!!

Yesterday marked our 3rd year together as a married couple!  We can't believe it has already been three years, but at the same time it is hard to picture what life was without each other.  We are really excited to start our new adventure this year with our baby boy!

When I got home from work Friday night I was greeted by these...

I love it when he surprises me with flowers on special occasions. :)

Yesterday we did some Saturday chores around the house... Robbie helped me clean, got the oil changed in my car, and gave my car a well-needed car wash.  After a hard day of work, we decided to treat ourselves and go to dinner at Harborside Restaurant in Newport Beach.  It is on the Balboa Peninsula and overlooks Newport Harbor.  We had a great view of the harbor from our table and we got to enjoy watching all the yachts, fishing boats, and duffy boats while we ate our delicious meal.

Robbie got the orange coconut crusted salmon and I had the top sirloin with mashed potatoes.  It was really good!  We were both so hungry that we took a bite before we could get a picture. :)

After dinner we walked around and found a nice bench to watch the sunset.  We also admired all the huge beach houses and wondered if we would be able to afford one. :)

The biggest surprise of the night came when Robbie knelt down on one knee and presented me with a wedding band!  We were young, poor college students when we got married and we were concerned about being able to pay for graduate school for the both of us... so a wedding band was not quite in the budget!  But it came as a wonderful surprise three years later and I absolutely love it!  I told Robbie that he couldn't have done a better job in picking it out... it is exactly what I would have picked out myself.  And it fits perfectly (but that may change once the pregnancy swelling kicks in!).

You can officially say that I am very spoiled... I have a great husband! I love you Robbie!!!

24 and 28 Weeks!

Yes, it has been a couple of months since I posted last... so it is time to give an update!  Our baby boy is growing! And he likes to move a lot! It is getting to be really fun now because we can talk to him and he will react to our voices. He especially likes hearing his dad's voice... but I think it is just because a deeper man's voice kinda startles him! He is always the most active when we are reading our scriptures right before bed and then when I wake up in the morning.

Here is a picture of me at 24 weeks...

And another picture at 28 weeks!

I am definitely looking (and feeling) pregnant! We took this picture last week, so right now we are at 29 weeks! It is so crazy to believe that I will be considered "full-term" in just 8 more weeks.  I have 7 more weeks of work... which gives me 4 weeks before the due date to finish my "nesting".  :)  Time is flying by so quickly!

We are so glad things are going well and we will keep you posted on the last few months!
