Before we left for San Francisco, Rob found out that the library has volunteers that do free tours of places all around the city. We decided to do a two hour tour of Chinatown... and it was a big cultural experience!
One of my favorite parts of the tour was we got to see how they make fortune cookies. It was just in a tiny shop down an alley and the guy just took the flat cookie off the rack and folded it into the cookie!
We wanted to get some lunch in Chinatown, so our guide recommended this great little restaurant called San Sun. It was very authentic (we were the only white people in the restaurant!) and really cheap, too. We got some egg rolls as an appetizer and then some delicious Pho as the main meal. Rob was loving life!
Our City Pass that we bought included free admission for the Exploratorium, which is like a huge warehouse full of science experiments you can try out. It was really cool and we spent a lot more time there than we thought! We tried out the "anti-gravity" mirror and got some funky pictures...
... and then we were so thirsty that we had to find a drinking fountain, but this is all we could find. :) No matter how hard we tried, we just couldn't drink out of it!
We ended our day with some fish 'n chips at Fisherman's Wharf and then caught the trolley back to our hotel. Another great day!
