Big News!

I realize that it has been nearly two years since I have blogged about our life... but we have been really busy lately! We graduated from BYU in April of last year and have since moved to Southern California to start our jobs with PwC. Rob is an auditor and I am a tax accountant. We enjoy the work that we do and the people that we work with, but it is a lot of working!! We just say "good-bye" to our lives during the busy season months and enjoy the time that is not busy. Typically, Rob is busy during January - March and again in August, and I am busy February - April and again from July/August - October. It has been a great experience for the both of us and we are happy to have the opportunity to work there.

Well, now we are excited to announce the next chapter of our life... adding a baby to the mix! We are expecting Baby Irwin on October 7th... which makes me 12 weeks today! I have had the "pleasure" of dealing with morning sickness and extreme exhaustion over the past few weeks, but I am happy to report that I am finally getting over it! I made dinner today, by myself, and I was so proud of myself! I can still get a little queasy over certain types of food, but I feel so much better than I did before. Bring on the second trimester!

We had our second doctor's appointment this last Thursday and we were able to see our baby on the ultrasound kicking around, touching its toes, waving its arms... it was so adorable! I am already in love with this little child of ours!! The baby is measuring a few days ahead of schedule... keep growing baby! I was amazed to see how much our baby had grown from week 7.5 to week 11.5... here are some pictures. The 7.5 week picture just looks like a little blob! And then the 11.5 week picture actually looks like a baby! With little arms, legs, fingers, toes!

Baby Irwin at 7.5 weeks!

And Baby Irwin at 11.5 weeks! Growing so fast!

I haven't started showing yet... but there was one day that I suddenly had a little belly! I got so excited about it that I took a picture... and I'm glad I did because it went away the next day. I never thought I would be so excited to gain weight and have my stomach rolling over my pants, but I am now! I'm sure that will change over the next few months, but for right now it is fun!

Here's the bump that came and went... and I'm sure it will be back soon!

As for Rob, he is doing really well! He has been working really long and hard hours lately, but he always makes sure I am doing okay and I really appreciate that. He has been dealing with some "symptoms" lately (tiredness) and while I'm pretty sure it is just because he is working a lot, I like to remind him that it is just pregnancy sympathy. :)

Well, that's our big news! I'm going to be better about updating this blog, mostly because we will have some fun and exciting things to post about in the upcoming months! I'll keep you updated.

Cooking Class at Harmons

Robbie reserved a spot for the both of us in a cooking class put on by Harmons grocery store in Draper. It was "Thai Temptations" night and we cooked some amazing food! Chef Bob would demonstrate what we were supposed to do, and then we would go to our cooking stations and make the food. We made Thai Spring Rolls, Masaman Curry, and Wing Bean Salad. Then we were served Mangos with Sweet Sticky Rice for dessert. It was so yummy!

Here I am with the Thai Spring Rolls. They were my favorite!

This is a picture of the Masaman Curry the day after we went. We had so much food that we couldn't eat it all, so they let us take the leftovers.

The class was so much fun and I would recommend going to one! Robbie and I hope that we can go to at least one more class because we had a blast. Thanks Robbie for the awesome birthday present!!

Hiking the Y

Robbie and I decided to get a little fresh air and hike the Y on Saturday afternoon. We stopped by Subway and grabbed some dinner for us to eat at the top of the Y. Here is where we started (you can see the white Y on the mountain if you look hard!)...And we made it to the top! Subway never tasted so good!
